Blogtacular Photowalk, The Portobello Hotel

Where has June gone?! I had a whole two weeks booked off work at the beginning of this month and in that time there were grand plans of getting a whole bunch of content lined up so I could post consistently every two weeks. That clearly did not go to plan as it is now the end of June and I am only just getting around to looking through my photos from Blogtacular and going over all the notes I took in all the amazing workshops.

I thought I would share some photos from one of the Blogtacular fringe events that ran the day before the conference, these events are a great way to meet other attendees whilst having fun and learning new skills for your business or blog. I was lucky enough to get a place on a photo walk with the talented Supal of Chevrons and Eclairs. Rather than the traditional photowalk Supal took us for a wander through Notting Hill to the stunning Portobello Hotel. The whole concept of a photowalk took me right out of my comfort zone, I am most comfortable taking photos in a controlled environment, usually at home and of inanimate objects! So for the first portion of the walk while my lack of confidence got the better of me I didn't take many photos but taking a step back did give me a chance to watch how the other folk in my group approached the situation which was really useful. The photos I am sharing here are mine, please don't judge my (lack of) photography skills! There are a couple of photos that the official Blogtacular photographer for the walk took, it is clear which ones these are because I am in them! I have linked to the photographer Joseph Galvin in the photo details too.

Once inside the hotel we had the chance to explore the communal areas and Supal had arranged for us to spend some time getting shots of one of the guest suites (which was unbelievably stunning). We were given pro tips along the way by Supal along with an abundance of treats from the hotel (thanks Portobello Hotel!). You might notice I got a bit trigger happy with the mirrors - it's hard to make a room full of people look empty so I was playing around with mirrors to do just that! Also, how stunning is that wallpaper?!

So those were my shareable photos from the photowalk, if you are planning on attending an event with photowalks I would highly recommend going on one not only for getting pretty photos but also for the learning opportunity and the socialising aspect too! Thanks again to Supal, The Portobello Hotel and Blogtacular for arranging it!

Next week I will be back sharing my Blogtacular highlights with you (there i've said it out loud now so I have to!) It turns out that being running a small business and working full time is pretty full on and that is before adding pregnancy to the mix! Baby brain has already set in plus trying to figure out how life will continue once a little human is added to the mix ..... EEP! If anyone has any words of wisdom I would love to hear them!

Have a good week!
