Hello and (a slightly belated) Happy New Year!
I am so pleased to share with you some pieces I have had in the works for a while, you can now shop the five designs from the Sol collection in recycled 9ct gold!

The Sol collection was inspired by my ongoing fascination with the symbolism that can be drawn from light and dark. In particular the visualisation techniques I use to ease anxiety and make myself feel safe. When I was pregnant with my son Eli I would picture sunlight filling my tummy, surrounding my growing baby and keeping him safe. Later on as he grew bigger in my belly Eli became my light, in my mind I nicknamed him Sol, my own personal sun and he still is now.
So when I designed the Sol pieces, I envisaged the pieces in beautiful warm toned recycled gold to reflect the warmth and light that inspired them in the first place. Having not ventured into gold an awful lot and also the cost implications as gold is a fair amount more expensive than silver, especially with the current pandemic, recession, general economic crisis going on I decided to launch Sol in just recycled silver to begin with. This way I could test the waters and gauge how well the designs went down before investing in making the designs in gold. I am so pleased to say that the Sol pieces, particularly the earrings which layer together beautifully, have been really popular so far and there were lots of Sol shaped packages under Christmas trees across the UK!

I have also added the ever popular La Lune Crescent Moon necklace in 9ct recycled gold too as this dainty little necklace just looks beautiful in gold. As ever £5 from each sale from the La Lune collection goes to Tommys charity in Iver’s memory.
I would love to hear your feedback on the introduction of more pieces in recycled 9ct gold to my shop and whether you would like to see more pieces offered in gold, I am particularly thinking of the La Lune collection. Let me know what you think!
As always thank you for reading this and continuing to support my little business. I was so happy to have had the opportunity and support to really grow my business in 2020 despite all that is going on in the world and I am excited to see where this year takes Kate Wainwright Jewellery!
