Friday night when I was rifling through blog post drafts to finish for this weekend that it is over a quarter way through 2018 and I haven't posted any life updates that aren't to do with jewellery. Shocking. I know some of you might not be too bothered about that but when starting this blog I really wanted to use it as a bit of a personal journal to look back on as well as a creative resource. So with that intention in mind below are some of my top moments from the beginning of this year (well the ones I managed to capture digitally!).
1 This year so far has been full of good books, including Nikita Gill's latest book of poetry; Wilds Embers which is equally as enchanting as her first - You Soul Is A River.
2 I won tickets to a Vegan Nights event in London which just so happened to coincide with a talk I was attending at The Goldsmiths Centre put on by the Women's jewellery network for International Women's Day. The food was phenomenal!
3 I got my hair done! This may not seem like news to most people who get their hair done every few months but this is a once or twice yearly event for me!
4 Snow! Puppy walks in the snow, I always worry their paws will get too cold but they always seem happy enough!
5 Screenprinting a custom 'death before decaf' print for the Mr's birthday.
6 More SNOW! I just couldn't resist sharing this photo of Emma with her chops full of snow. (You may notice there are no Bob snow photos - he HATES the cold and doesn't stay still enough for me to get a snap of his beautiful nose covered in snowflakes!)
7 The birthday Mr himself! At his happiest eating copious amounts of meat.
8 The Green Door Store, a local venue. I went to see some great bands with my boys.
9 The super lovely 'In The Moment' magazine shared #reclaimthehappy and my though process behind it. How cool is that?! What is even better is that the #reclaimethehappy is almost at 6000 happy posts!!!
So those were my snapshots from the past three months. Photos to choose from on my camera roll were actually few and far between, I haven't been taking many photos other than product shots probably because of the weather. To be honest I have been getting home from work and just wanting to sleep! Has anyone else been feeling like that recently? Anyway the past few mornings walking the dogs I have seen the blossom making appearance on the trees around where I live, there is nothing like a bit of cherry blossom to make you want to get your camera out, am I right?!
I'd love to hear if anyone else has been in a photography slump with the gloomy weather and what you do to get your mojo back!
Thanks for checking in with my weekly ramblings, see you back here next week!
